Working with Education

Helping young people to help themselves

We help young people in Norfolk and Suffolk by working with them through and in education.

Our education programme includes direct schools engagement  and our main focus is currently on providing classroom-based sessions in schools and colleges, namely workshops on understanding where certain skills could lead, identifying local career-start opportunities and getting a working CV up and running using our free online platform 'icanbea...'

Additionally we may be able support educational establishments by attending activities like as mock interviews and we can work with aligned organisations such as Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils and the DWP, supporting groups of young people or individuals looking for career information.

We've got previous experience in delivering activities such as contextualised classroom learning sessions supported by representatives and organisations from industry.  These sessions and workshops - like our Renew Your Future programme helped to directly showcase potential career paths and opportunities in local, emerging sectors.

The Mason Trust also operates www.icanbea.org.uk - a free website and app where young people can explore career ideas in the context of Norfolk and Suffolk's growth industries, follow potential and local employer organisations and browse, filter and apply for the opportunities on offer in the region.  If you would like us to run an icanbea... workshop in your school or college, please get in touch.

Finally, we also offer an ad hoc advice service for young people who are looking for specific opportunities or routes into industry, providing information about the employers that we work with and offering general advice and CV writing support.  Check out our hints and tips page to get started.

If you think any elements of our education programme could benefit you as an individual or your organisation, please get in touch with us using the contact form on this website.
